    Remove write protect from SD card


    Can someone tell me how to remove "write protect" from an SD card in WIndows 10. Most of the info on the net is out of date or doesn't work and I don't want to go into the registry unless I really have to. It seems every disk I use in my Olympus ends up write protected.

    Write Protected SD

    Hi Fred,

    Write-protected SD card disables some functions in the SD card like installing new data, delete data or move data. We suggest checking if there is a small physical switch located on your SD to disable the write-protect. Also, you may try removing the write
    protection thru the Properties of the drive. Open File Explorer > Right-click the SD card > Properties > Remove write-protection.

    If the if two suggestion we provided didn't resolve the issue, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of the SD card for additional assistance on formatting your SD card.

    SD Card write protection problem

    My sd card has a problem it is write protected after the last update of windows 10 mobile On lumia 640xl

    I can not use it anymore unless I remove the write protection

    Remove write protect from SD card

    Cannot run chkdsk because my sd card is write protected

    I am trying to retrieve some corrupted photos on my sd card but when i tried to run disk checking on it, this message appears:

    The type of the file system is FAT32.

    Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume because it is write protected.

    Is there any way i can remove the write protection from my sd card or can someone suggest a way i can retrieve my corrupted photos from my sd card. Thanks in advance for the help.
