  1. Removed a PCManager file from WindowsApps

Hello all,Recently, my antivirus has flagged down a file from WindowsApps C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftPCManager_3.14.13.0_x648wekyb3d8bbwe\PCManager\BGADefMgr.exe and some files that belongs to the same file. Albeit it was a false positive, I was careless enough to delete them accidentally didn't even give me a warning of requiring administrator power to do so. After that I had various BSODs, such as Kernel_mode_heap_corruption and others. These are the methods I have tried, but for now it has stayed very unstable, sometimes it gives BSOD within 10 minutes of turning th

Getting full access to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

    Hey x509,
IIRC ... it's not actually a corrupt entry, but a special permission/condition (Exists:WIN://SYSAPPID) for Users(Pc-Name\Users) and shouldn't be removed. If you must change permissions on the WindowsApps folder and/or sub folders/files .... I suggest you get familiar with ICACLS first and save the current WindowsApps Folder / Sub Folders / File permissions to a acl.txt file, so you can restore them in case you break something (which is very likely when messing with permissions)

ICACLS - iCacls - Modify Access Control List - Windows CMD - SS64.com

  4. Removed a PCManager file from WindowsApps

Trying to delete files in WindowsApps and it wants permission from "Administrators"

    Hi Greg,

    Thank you for getting involved.

I have checked that I am an Administrator. Using your steps, I am listed as Administrator under the Account name and email address.

I have also used the registry script on the linked site and used the shortcut to take ownership of the WindowsApps folder. Unfortunately this has not solved the issues. I then also tried the same shortcut on several folders within WindowsApps so that it was performed closer to the target files, without any luck.

Other suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you.
