  1. Removing Cloud folders in Win 11

I have unlinked the PC. But I still saw the Cloud structure of folders in Explorer, so I came here to learn how to remove them. But the instructions listed as recently as 2021 doesn't fit what I am seeing in 2024. This is what I saw her:But the html example is clearly for an earlier version of Windows. All I see is:There is no option to not use the cloud. My Windows install is a VM and the VM get's backed up locally. So, yes, I am now unlinked. I absolutely want to remove any vestige of these dead links from explorer. How do I do it?

    :)

    Win 11 on The Cloud?!

    Hi Old_hand,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

it is true that many Microsoft services are cloud enabled, but it is possible to set Windows 11 up like an older version of Windows, these are the first steps I always take when setting up Windows, because I like to control my data and where it is stored.

If you do not want Windows connected to the Cloud, uninstall the OneDrive app and if you need to use Office, the 2021 version of Office is standalone and does not connect to the cloud, it works like the older versions of Office.

You can also switch you use profile back to a local account to remove the Microsoft account connection.

    Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

    Win 11 on The Cloud?!

Those of us with Win 11 bought it with a new computer. Knowing The Cloud's pricyness, possibly another money-making, tails-you-lose scenario. I don't like storing anything on the Internet. The scams there are rampant. One supposes after the MICROSOFT programs like OFFICE 365, free-to-use on the Web, this was the next step.
