Windows 10: Removing Defender notifications

Recently I have had a client that uses an application that interacts with the desktop of Windows Server 2016. The application crashes/hangs/times out whenever a notification pops-up for Windows Defender. The main pop-up is the "Microsoft Defender Summary....".We have implemented the following GPOs to prevent these pop-ups, however they do not seem to be working despite GPResult showing they have been applied.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GPO: Disable Defender NotificationsFolder Id: Software\Policies\Micr

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

 

Remove windows defender icon from the tray on win 10

Hi Vaso,

To help you remove Windows Defender icon from your computer's system tray, you may follow these steps:

• Right-click taskbar, and then choose Settings.
  
• Under Notification area, click Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
  
• Turn off the Windows Defender notification icon.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps:

  Open Settings.
  
• 
  Click on System and click on Notifications and Actions.

  Under Show notifications for these apps turn off the setting for Windows defender.
