Windows 10: Removing extra Downloads shortcut from Navigation panel which is above This PC category

I have installed Megasync weeks ago and somehow a few days ago my Kaspersky antivirus flagged it as malware and have messed up my Navigation panel which don't affect performance but somehow it making me really irritated. After the incident I have uninstalled Megasync and tried in-place upgrade but seem no use so I'm thinking having to intercept it from Regedit but I don't know which registry is responsible for managing Navigation panel. And also I'm considering re-installing Windows 10 but that's very likely to be last resort option since I haven't backed up all nearly 600GBs from my HDD yet

Screenshots might help clarify your situation. Can you show:

• How your Navigation Pane options are set?
• Targets for shortcuts to Downlads

I'm confused by several things, as well as being unsure of which of several methods Tweaker uses to hide/remove folders. Can you clarify:

1. How are you opening Downloads "directly"?
   1. shellownloads
   2. shell:Local Downloads
   3. shell:UsersFilesFolder\Downloads
   4. C:\Users\<UserProfileFolder\Downloads>

vs.

1. Navigating to where?
   1. A shortcut you created?
   2. shell:UsersFilesFolder\Downloads
   3. C:\Users\<UserProfileFolder\Downloads>

 

The Control Panel (Category View)

My apologies, Brink but I still do not get it.

The steps for both options are identical, the only difference is the location of the desired icons will need to be accessible for all users for Option 2. That's it.

Moreover, both the Mail and Flash Player (32-bit) applets are not listed in the list of Control Panel items for both options.

Best way to remove problem Malware

Hi There,

I am trying to remove a bundle of Malware without success.

There is a bundle of listed programs which I try to uninstall through the typical Control Panel effort, but they remain listed there:

Buenosearch Toolbar
MyPC Backup
PC Performer
Speed Test 127
UnknownFile

I was looking at this weblink which provides a 5 step process for Buenosearch alone:

Not sure how much certain guides can be trusted. One of the first things I read was to download Revo Uninstaller, and I've not heard of it so I'm not sure if it's trustworthy..........
