Windows 10: Removing main email account from Windows Mail 10.

I have an Outlook mail that I use prominently on Windows 10. My preference mail delivery software is Microsoft Outlook and I place my main account on it. The issue is that I cannot remove my main email from the Windows mail and now I have two delivery systems that is doubling up on my notifications.How do I remove my main account from Windows Mail itself without having to remove the account from the operating system?

You might check using step 3 in Option Two of the tutorial below to see if your son's email is listed under your "Email & app accounts". If so, deleting it will remove it.

Removing email account added to Mail app settings

Hi Robert,

Removing or deleting an email account from the Mail app is possible via the Settings in the Mail app. You can do this by following these steps:

• Click the Gear icon in the lower left corner of the Mail app.
• Choose Manage Accounts, then choose the account you want to remove.
• Choose Delete Account.

NOTE: The Delete account option removes the account from the Mail and Calendar apps, but does not affect the account itself. For example, if you remove an Outlook.com account from the Mail and Calendar apps, you can still access that account
using another email client or on the web.
