Windows 10: removing MANY tiles from start menu -- one-by-one not an option

    removing MANY tiles from start menu -- one-by-one not an option


    I installed Windows 10 as an upgrade from Windows 8.1. Now, on the right side of the start menu there are tons of tiles, for every single application that I had installed, and more. How do I remove ALL of the tiles? Besides one-by-one, right click and unpinning. Are they in the registry or a configuration file somewhere?

    Hi Carol, do you mean remove the tiles from the Start menu, or can you not see your Desktop?

    If you mean remove the tiles form the Start Menu, there is no other option other than to remove them One by One

    If you cannot see the alphabetical list of folders and installed apps on the Start Menu:

    Open the Settings App

    Go to Personalisation - Start

    Turn on the option 'Show App list in Start menu'

    If you cannot access your Desktop, I think you may be in Tablet Mode . . .

    Press the Windows Key + A to open the Notification Bar

    If you cannot see the Tablet Mode button, click 'Expand'

    Then click the Tablet Mode button

    Hi SuperVika,

    To remove the Alphabetical list of apps from the Start Menu:

    Open the Settings App, go to Personalisation - Start

    Turn off 'Show App list in Start Menu'

    Also turn off any other options you need from there . . .

    To remove all the big tiles from the Start Menu:

    Right click each one and choose 'Unpin from Start'
