Windows 10: Removing MS account association with Windwos 10

From what I understand and have read on the internet, once a Microsoft Account has been associated with Windows 10 it cannot be removed without a full reinstall of windows. The reason I ask is that I changed my Dad's laptop from S Mode to Windows 10 Pro and it required a MS account to do so. The net result is that I ended up associating my Microsoft Account with his laptop with no means of removing my account.


If there is a way please share it or make it possible.

Remove account


I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

   net user test /del

 

Remove personal Microsoft account and only use Office 365 & associated email

To remove your Microsoft account without restoring your computer, you can follow the steps below:

• Click Start, and then click Settings.
• Click Accounts and select Your email and accounts.
• Click on the account that you want to remove.
• Click Delete account and data confirmation.

If you will delete the account and it's data, you will be unable to use the data and the files associated to the same account.

Change Password to MS Account associated with my Login ID

Thank you for the response. However, it did not necessarily answer my question.

My PC is on a domain but I don't use my Microsoft Account to sign-in to it. The MS account is associated with my domain login. After digging around a little, I see that under Accounts there is a section listing other accounts, in which the MS account is
listed. There are two buttons next to it, Manage and Remove.

clicking the Manage it takes me to the online MS account where I can change the password using the method provided in the link you sent earlier. I founmd this after I changed the password online using the browser. I did not try to change the password using
the Accounts/Other Accounts in Windows10. Does this method sync the password automatically?
