Windows 10: removing myself from family

the reason i have to ask this on here is because the microsoft support is absolutely useless, the "get help" app doesn't even work.


I need to remove myself from my xbox family thing because my account is classed a "child" and this prevents me from buying game pass. I then get the adult account in the family to try to gift me game pass but then that forces me to buy it for 3 months, which is £25, and i refuse to spend that much to only play forza horizon 4 for at most 2 weeks, and it's a complete waste of money. Is there any way for me to be able to remove my account from the family? I've tried it in the past but it always automatically added my account back into the family, and we tried contacting support and they didn't do anything.


if that isn't possible, is there anyway for me to buy 1 month of game pass without being forced for a parent account to buy it for 3 months?

Remove myself from the Family safety

Note: You cannot remove yourself from a family if you are the only adult and there are still child accounts still in the family.
If you want to remove yourself, you'll need to add another adult first, or remove all the child accounts first.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you regarding the
family safety settings.

Turn off family settings in Windows.

• To turn off family settings for a child in your family, sign in at account.microsoft.com/family. Then choose one of these
  options:
  • Remove them from family settings by choosing Remove, then selecting their account, then selecting
    Remove again. They’ll still be able to sign in to their PCs, but this will remove any family limits that you set.
  • Or select them from the main family page, which will bring you to their Recent activity. If
    Activity reporting is turned On, turn it
    Off. Then repeat for the other settings pages (Web browsing, Apps, games & media, Screen time, Purchase & spending), making sure that those switches are turned
    Off.

It could be because of the settings on the Family and Safety feature or the account you're using is added to a Family. With that being said, we suggest that you check if the account that you are using is a part of the
Family list. To check on it, go to Cortana
and search for Family Options.



To remove your account to the Family, you may follow the steps below:

• Use the Adult account to log in using this link.
• Click on the Family tab.
• On the account that you want to remove, click More > Remove from family.
• Then click Remove to confirm.
