Removing PIN to sign in causing account problems and frozen settings menus

    1. After removing a PIN as a sign-in option because I forgot it after sticky notes kept desyncing for no reason I've had to manually enter my online account password to sign in rather than bypassing it to Windows I live alone
    2. Today, however, Windows boot says "we are unable to connect right now" and all USB devices mouse, keyboard, wifi adapter seem to be disabled preventing me from continuing
    3. Booting into troubleshooting options and choosing Startup Repair, it said "couldn't repair your PC", log file: System32/LogFiles/SrtTrail.txt it actually says booting was successful
    4. Booting in safe mode says "incorrect username or password", manually entering password works, USB devices work, but all options in the accounts settings menu hang indefinitely other than the default "Your Info" "Sync your settings" freezes the window

    5. What is going on with my account? Does it need an internet connection while booting to sign in without a PIN? I have a sketchy powerline adapter currently disabled and a USB wifi adapter, but the latter takes a few seconds to connect after the desktop loads. My theory is that when I had multiple sign-in options it was able to sign in automatically without a connection, but now that I have only my online account password, it not only needs a continuous connection during booting but I have to manually sign in now. Basically I need a PIN again but I can't change it on the computer because of the menu problems.
