Hello,I am having issues trying to delete data from a WD 128 Cruzer Glide thumb drive.I did a google search and found a post that suggested DiskPart & AOMEI partition assistant. Neither of these worked. The issue appears to be that there are bad sectors on the thumb drive this is the second time I've run into this. I believe the issue was that I used these thumb drives at work on SmartScreen devices which seemed to mangle of the file system, I dunno, all I know is that there were issues with some of SmartScreens when I put the flash drive in it.Anyway, every time I put it into my comp,

USB thumb flash drives are "write protected"

Bought 4 PNY 16GB USB thumb drives and every time I try to format them, the computer kicks back that they are write protected. Have tried ALL the solutions listed and explained in the 10 forums here, and nothing works to disable the write protection on my machine. Tried diskpart, Command Prompt, and Computer Configuration and nothing resolves my problem. BTW, there's no switch on these USB drives.
    Anybody know of a fix?
My machine is Dell Optiplex 960 w/6 Gb memory.
Thanks for reading my post and possibly helping me,

How to Remove Write-Protection from an OEM USB Drive?

I did all that. After I entered, "ATTRIBUTES DISK CLEAR READONLY", I didnt get a prompt stating that the write protect has been removed. But the command prompt stated that disk attributes cleared successfully.

But when I tried to format the USB drive I get a pop up window stating that its still write-protected. Do you have any other suggestions?

Windows 10 suddenly Write Protecting USB Drives

I found a solution here: 5 Free Ways to Remove Write Protection from USB/Pen Drive

After I had completed step #2 I tried to write again the problem persisted but I then removed the drive from the USB port and reinserted it and VOILA !! Success.
