Windows 10: Removing Xbox contacts from People app ?

I have imported my google account contacts in the People app after that when I opened the app again I saw that some of my Xbox friends were showing up I had the same problem even on my previous Windows 10 installation and I have it again. When I try to delete a Xbox contact like a normal one the delete button is grayed out and I can't press it, I removed all my Xbox friends from the Xbox app and they are still showing up in the contacts app, how can I remove them ?

And another question is that it doesn't work with my iCloud account where I have all my contacts, I think it is because I have two factor authentication, but can someone tell me if that is the problem ?

And another question is that my Contacts app is showing in the start menu as: ms-resources:AppListName , and even when I pin it to the start it shows the same, I saw that this was a Insider bug but I am not on Insider on this computer.

Removing Xbox contacts from People app

Recently, after an update, I noticed that all my xbox contacts had started showing up on the People app. I then removed all these contacts from my xbox account and I currently have 0 friends in my xbox account. But even after doing this, I noticed that
their accounts are still showing up on the Live tile of the People app and are also still present in the People app. How do I permanently get rid of these accounts?

 

Deleted Skype Contacts Still in the People App

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to hide Skype contacts by applying filter and check if this helps.

Follow these steps:

• Open People app and click on Settings.

Deleting contacts from Windows 10


When you say Windows Mail Live are you referring to Mail app or Windows Live Mail?

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Open Windows Live Mail.
• Press Ctrl + 3 using your keyboard. Right-click on the contact to delete it if it is a single contact.
• Highlight all contacts by pressing Ctrl + A.
• Click Delete located on the Ribbon bar.
• Click OK when you see the message These contacts will also be deleted from Hotmail, Messenger, and other Windows Live services.

After following the steps above, all your contacts that you have manually added to your account will be deleted however, contacts coming from third-party sites such as Facebook will not be deleted unless you remove Facebook from your account.

For Mail app:

Open People app then delete the contact.
