  1. Rename Files by taking out characters to only keep integers.

Hi, I need to rename 4,000 image files in bulk. All of the names contain integers, letters, spaces, decimal points, and hyphens. Is there a way to extract all characters excluding integers in bulk? Here is an example of what I need:

    Original Name: "Discovery.123456.John Doe-Google.jpg"

What I need to change it to: "123456.jpg"

Is there a way to do this in command prompt or is there another tool I can use?

    :)

  2. Rename each file an incrementing integer

I have a directory of mp3 files, sorted in order of Date created:

I want to rename each file in this directory with a new name including an integer value that increases for each file (starting at the newest file):

How can I do this automatically (without needing to manually rename each file)?

Specifically, I'm looking for a command to essentially do this:

  3. Trouble renaming photos and files

    Dear Guru Kiran,

I followed the steps that you mentioned above. Unfortunately, it did not fix my problem. (I did not have any corrupted system files).

I still cannot rename any of my files or photos when I select "Rename". After typing one or two characters the rename-window just closes.

The only way I can rename a file or photo is when I select properties. This is a very annoying step especially if I am trying to rename many photos with the same name.

I hope that you are still able to help me fix this problem.

    Sincerely,

    Lucia Clark
