    I have Xml file which have one unique reference id, I have to rename each Xml file with each unique reference number. Is there any way to rename all the Xml files with their Unique reference number at once?

    Thanks for the reply. The Bulk Rename Utility does not open files. It just renames them. But while running the Bulk Rename Utility, you can double click (or right click and open) on a file name and the image will open using the default app for jpg files. At my home computer, I start Bulk Rename and see a list of jpg files to rename. I click on a file name and it opens the image with Microsoft Photos on my screen. At my office, I do the same thing and I get a MS Photos icon on the taskbar.

    I have tried using different default apps for jpg files like MS Paint and get the exact same results. For some reason, my office computer is not opening the jpg files so that I can see them but just creating a Photos icon on the taskbar.

    Hi MarkMcDonough45,

    I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

    Looks like the Bulk Rename Utility is not the default app for .jpg files,

    to change it, right-click any .jpg file > Open With > Choose another app > Check the box "Always use this app to open .jpg files" > Select the Bulk Rename Utility and click OK.

    If you don't find the Bulk Rename Utility on the list, click "More Apps", if you still don't see it, click "Look for another app on this PC" and select the Bulk Rename Utility shortcut or executable file.

    Hi, I have nearly 4,000 image files that I need to rename. They all contain one type of unique ID number (let's call it ID1) along with some other words, and I need to rename them to a different type of unique ID number (let's call it ID2) without the
    other words. I have the 4,000 ID1 numbers and the ID2 numbers that go along with each one in an excel sheet. Is there a way to do a find and replace that will find each unique ID1 regardless of other words in the name, and replace the entire name with ID2?
