Windows 10: "Rename this PC" greyed out and two device names

HiI recently renamed my PC which caused one of my software licenses to stop working. I then changed it back to the original name, but now Windows is showing two device names and the rename button is greyed out as shown below. Does anyone know why this happened and how I can get it back to just the one original name without doing anything major?Thanks!

We appreciate you getting back to us. To change the cmd name, we suggest that you follow this steps:

• Open a Command Prompt (Adimin) window: Win+X, A, Alt+Y
• Then run the following command to change your computer name to Donner: WMIC ComputerSystem where Name=COMPUTER-NAME call Rename Name=NewName
• Reboot your PC.
• Try to run ipconfig / all command, you should find that the Host Name in Windows IP Configuration list has been changed to the new name.

Renaming PC

Did the steps to rename my pc but when I restarted the computer it didn't change on my screen.

Went back in to re-do it but it was showing the new name. So, I restarted again to see if it would change on my log in screen and it didn't. Old name shows when waking the pc to log in but new name is listed when I go to About PC. What am I doing wrong?

 

Renamed PC name not showing in MS account devices

This is more frustrating than anything. I installed Windows 10, and after signing in with my Microsoft account I remembered to rename the PC from the DESKTOP-blah name to something more memorable. However, when I look at the devices in my Microsoft account settings (https://account.microsoft.com/devices) I still see the old name. I've removed the PC from the MS account devices, and switched to a local account on the PC then back to my MS account again, but it re-adds the PC with the old name each time.

Any ideas how I get my MS account to forget about the old name altogether?
