Windows 10: Repair install not possible

I have a Matebook X Pro that has issues with randomly freezing completely a few seconds after waking up from sleep/hibernation. I want to do a reinstall keeping apps and data, but only keeping data is not available in the control panel so I tried using MediaCreationTool20H2. After downloading windows it aborts with the message:


This PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10.

Your PC isn't supported yet on this version of Windows 10. Windows Update will automatically offer you this version of Windows 10 once the issue has been resolved.


I have tracked this down to probably being a thunderbolt driver and waited for it to be fixed. According to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4592819/error-when-plugging-in-a-thunderbolt-nvme-ssd this should have been resolved 11. December, but I still get the same error today. I am already on 20H2, updated via windows update.


How can I bypass this issue and make a repair install keeping apps ?

I flashed my DCII-7970 with Ati flash and now it's not working

open a RMA with ASUS send the card in for repair if atiflash isn't listing both cards then there is no possibility for you to repair it

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Is it possible to Install Windows 10 home at this stage?

I suggest you to create a Windows 10 installation media and perform a Startup Repair on the device and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
This is an alternate way to boot the device and run recovery tools when something goes wrong with the Operating system.

Please follow the steps below to do Startup repair:

          Insert the installation USB drive
          and boot Windows 10 from it.
          
          If you don't have one, you can Create an installation Media.
          
        • 
          In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’
          and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Startup Repair’
          and select the operating system.
