Windows 10: Repair Windows 10 recovery partition on dual boot

I have a dual boot setup, Windows 10 and a Linux distro. There aren't any problems with either OS but my Windows doesn't seem to have a recovery partition. I need to access the command prompt from ASO but ASO only has "Turn off your PC" option.reagentc /info returns:Windows Recovery Environment Windows RE and system reset configurationInformation: Windows RE status: Disabled Windows RE location: Boot Configuration Data BCD identifier: d679...... Recovery image location: Recovery image index: 0 Custom image location: Custom image index: 0REAGENTC.EXE

For the convenience of not having to use the installation media for startup repairs. But you should be able to use your installation media to do whatever the recovery partition does(including startup repairs). AFAIK. I could be wrong about that though.

I'm not sure if I follow you there. But if you clean install Windows 10 there will be at least 3 partitions.

• (EFI System Partition)
• (Primary Partition)
• (Recovery/OEM Partition)

If you install from an OEM installation media there might(should?) be 4 partitions. Since there might(should?) be a Recovery partition and an OEM partition.

Repairing Dual boot for Windows 10

Hello.

I had installed Ubuntu for a dual boot but ended up deleting it and the partitions. Now when I boot my system a black screen appears with the message:

"Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device completions.

grub> _"



I can get to Windows by typing 'exit'. How can I get rid of these extra steps to starting my computer?

There is another post that already asked about this exact problem but following the directions did not fix it for me (see link below). Is there another way to fix this problem besides booting from an install and typing "bootrec.exe /fixmbr" into the command
prompt?

Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot and Repairing Dual Boot in Windows 10

Hello.

I had dual-booted my Dell laptop which came with preinstalled Windows 10. I had dual booted with Ubuntu 16.04 by creating a partition on the disk. To remove this dual boot, i.e. I only wanted to keep Windows 10, I formatted the disk, drive F(in my case),
where Ubuntu was stored. But, now whenever I boot my system, a black grub screen comes with the following message:

Upon writing 'exit', I am able to enter Windows.

1. I wish to know the reason behind it and how it can be removed.

2. I found this site, Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot, I went ahead and performed all the steps. But somehow
ended up with this error.

Also, I saw your reply on this thread Redirecting.
But it did not help me to remove my error. I will really appreciate your help in removing this error.
