Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete. How long it might take.It almost been 48hour automatically it goes to repairing mode and couldn't execute any command or shutdown.1 week back it was showing black screen with mouse pointer over the screen Later on one day will file transferring it not showing pop windows for file transfer.. Not it say repairing disk errors.Please provide any support

Thank you so much for the solution, however, i followed all the steps you mentioned and when i selected startup repair, it went again on Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete. Could you please let me know, how long do I have to
wait.?

  I see is a Lenovo logo screen
• with circling dots

  transitioning between these three messages:

• 
  1) "Preparing Automatic Repair"
  
  2) "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete."
  

• 
  3) "Diagnosing your PC"

• 
  It continuous in this cycle over and over with the screen turning black for a second before starting the loop

Have Windows 10 running on a Dell Inspiron. On boot-up I have the following error: "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete."
This has been running for over an hour? Any advice? Any idea what is causing this?
