    I have a bit of an odd problem- I recently upgraded my computer which involved some cloning of drives to new NVMEs, and I suspect something there went wrong with moving my Windows installation. My PC worked fine enough, though I had to keep an otherwise unnecessary drive plugged in or else I got driver failure BSODs often, but it seemed to be only temporary as I eventually found myself unable to log into Windows without freezing and crashing. I did a clean install of Windows on my secondary drive, which works flawlessly and all my other issues seem to be resolved, but of course it's entirely c

    To be able to assist you better, let us know a few more details on the below questions.

    • Does Windows show the drive as empty?
    • Have you checked if you are able to access the image files on a different computer?
    • Do you have any specific drivers available for the external drives?

    [*]As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check the external drive for errors and check if the issue persists. Follow the steps to check for errors in the drive.
    Follow the below steps:

    1. Open This PC folder.

    2. Right-click the drive or partition that needs to be checked and select
    Properties
    .

    3. On the Tools tab under Error checking click
    Check.

    Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

    Windows 10 may have encountered a system file corruption after it was turned off while it was scanning and repairing drive (CRepairing Windows 10 on a different drive while retaining that drive's contents? :). For us to help you access your computer and end the scanning and repairing loop, we suggest that you perform a startup repair.
    Kindly follow the steps below:

    • Start your computer from the installation media, Insert the DVD or USB flash drive and restart your computer. Press a key once you see a message that says
      Press any key to boot from DVD.
    • On Install the Windows screen, select Repair your computer to the
      Windows Recovery Environment.
    • On the Windows Recovery Environment, on the Choose an option screen, select
      Troubleshoot
      .
    • Select Advanced options. Under Advanced options, select
      Startup Repair.
    • Startup Repair will now start Diagnosing your PC, and will perform an automatic repair.

    Meanwhile, if you don't have a disk or USB, download the ISO from a different computer and try creating a bootable disk or USB. Kindly refer to this
