Windows 10: Repeated fail upgrade to 1903 => block functional upgrades

Dear all,

Since some months, I fail to update to W10 1903 from 1803. I tried the different methods from FIX: Windows 10 Update 1903 failed to install (Solved) - wintips.org - Windows Tips & How-tos

It fails with error 0xc1900101

It is a 12 years old Thinkpad R61, and drivers are not anymore maintained. All my devices are OK (no device with yellow warning in device manager). But difficult to go beyond. I a problem of drivers, I have no clue about which one.

I especially tried the Method4 with in place upgrade, without more success. I used the WU diagnostic tool: did not helped... Blocks at 60% of the update, then revert to previous version, and get the error 0xc1900101

Is there a way to get more precise information about what's wrong in my laptop ?

If not, is there a way to disable the functional updates and keep the Security updates ?

SCCM: In Place upgrade Win 7to win 10 1903 License issue

I was working on one task sequence for In Place Upgrade. Win 10 1709 to Win 10 1903 is working fine.

But Win 7 to Win 10 1903 is getting failed during Upgrade Operating System step.

I checked some of the links and added the KMS Client Keys (NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43) in upgrade operating system step.

Also added one step to run vbs script.

But Task Sequence is getting failed at this step.

Command line Cscript.exe c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /ipk NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43 returned 3221549136

In my environment, we are using KMS and we don't have a Volume license.

Any advise how to resolve this issue.

 

Trouble Upgrading 1803 to 1903 - Fails to restart

I’m still running the UEFI tests (Someone stepped on the power cable pulling it out so lost a lot of time!)

It’s in loop until failure, but does that mean test never ends!?

Windows 10 1903 Upgrade Fails

With the urgency to upgrade from 1803 to 1903, I need assistance with this failure to upgrade.

I have used this document as a guide: Troubleshoot Feature update install failures

I have done the clean boot procedure and tried to also disable WSL but get the dreaded error 0x80073701.

Anyway repeated attempts to upgrade result in error 0x80004005. I'm not sure if I should include the required Panther logs in this message or upload somewhere.

Assistance is needed, awaiting next steps. Thank you.
