Windows 10: Repeated sudden shutdown and restart during boot up

Looking for help and advice on the following issue:Currently my system would shutdown and restart unexpectedly. During start up it would repeatedly turn off with a click sound from PSU? and restart during the boot up process usually not getting past the boot logo - after 4 or 5 times of repeating this shutdown/restart it will eventually boot into Windows or freeze up during the boot and I have to do a hardreset. Once booted into Windows its liable to suddenly shutdown and restart into the previously described cycle seemingly at random could be during or after app startups, before or during

Sudden system shutdown/restart, what could be causing it?

NO blue-screen when it crashes, just a complete shutdown indicates a hardware failure that is unrecoverable. I would suggest booting and running a live OS from DVD or USB while you do some hardware testing to prevent corruption of the OS and any files.


Procedure is the same for either live OS or for standard.

Remove every stick of RAM except one, unplug any hard drives not used, open case and point a fan into the case to make sure everything is staying cool and start running mem test and OCCT.

It looks like the CPU is getting too hot, so with the case open and a fan blowing in see if it restarts.

 

PC is Suffering Unexpected Shutdowns

Most important detail to me would be whether these shutdowns are sudden, in which case it's likely a short or PSU issue (capacitor aging maybe?) or graceful windows style shutdowns, which suggests software interference.

It could also be overheating components if it's a sudden shutdown. What are your thermals like?

 

My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix
