Windows 10: replace my processor for Windows 11

Hello!I have a HP LAPTOP-P18H528L with a AMD E2-9000e RADEON R2, 4 COMPUTE CORES 2C+2G.I would know if I can replace this processor by a better one compatible with Windows 11.Thanks!

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you.

The minimum requirements for Windows 11 is at least 8th Gen processors. The processor you are using which is AMD Ryzen 5 2500U is not included in the list of supported processors.

Microsoft stated that they are already done with the testing with the supported processors for Windows 11.

You can stay in Windows 10 it is still supported until year 2025, by that time you will have a new computer already.

However if you want to update your device to Windows 11, you can reach out to your manufacturer and have them check what is the compatible processor for your device model for a processor replacement to update to Windows 11.

Processor compatibility for Winsows 11

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Microsoft were testing and adding some more processors, and did add some to the list, they indicate they have now completed testing, and no more processors will be added to the official list.

It is possible to install Windows 11 on an unsupported processor using the Windows 11 ISO, I have Windows 11 installed on an unsupported Core i7 7700HQ processor and Windows 11 runs very smoothly, however Microsoft advise you do not do that, they will not be liable for any problems caused by doing that and also you would not receive Windows 11 updates, however, everyone that has installed Windows 11 on an unsupported processor is still receiving updates.

Another option would be to contact your PC manufacturer to see if that processor can be upgraded.

Windows 11 Processor List

Is the current Windows 11 Processor List final or will Microsoft add to the list? The current list is omitting processors that were delivered on machines within the past 2 years.
