Windows 10 no replace or skip file dialog box appearing.

When I copy a duplicate file I do not get a dialog box, just a file with the same name and copy added.

I have tried the following with no success :-

    Method 1:

Try resetting the File Explorer settings to defaults and see if that helps.

    1. Press Windows + E key to open File Explorer.
    2. Now click on View and click on Options.
    3. On the Folder Options window click on Restore Defaults.
    4. Now click on View tab and click on Restore Defaults.

Try copying the files with same names and see if you get the Skip or replace option window.

    Method 2:

Uncheck the Folder Merge Conflicts option and see if that helps. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

    1. Press Windows + E key to open File Explorer.
    2. Now click on View and click on Options.
    3. On the Folder Options window click on View tab.
    4. Under Advanced settings scroll down and uncheck the option Hide folder merge conflicts.
    5. Click on Apply and OK.

  4. Replace or Skip File box not appearing when copying files

Windows 10 no replace or skip file dialog box appearing.

    Hi, how are you ?!

We are happy with your contact!

    Please try the following:

Please be informed that you might have checked that option to replace or skip file dialogue box.

I suggest you to restore the folder options and check if it helps.

    Go to file explorer.

    Click on View.

    Click on options.

    Then click on Restore default.

If you are using the copy function to copy images directly and that is why you were not giving me the option to replace or ignore. I copied the files to a temporary folder on my desktop and then copied them to the folder where the duplicate files existed. This
worked perfectly and I was able to get the dialog box to replace or skip.

    Also try:

    In Explorer, go to:

File> Change folder and search options> View tab> Deselect Hide folder merge conflicts and see if that helps.

    Hope this helps!

    Sincerely,

    Jediael Elias Corrêa
