Disagree, it depends on the click. It can be either that or the read/write head hitting the disc + a few other causes.

I'm currently rebuilding my pc in a new case so it would be probably somewhere tomorrow before I can look into SMART data.

PC build is finished, just some cable management left. SMART data is good on both drives, its still making clicking noises though

EasyBCD worked because you had a working OS to install and run it from.

If you didn`t then you`d have to mark the SSD Active (using Diskpart or even Partition Wizard if you had a Boot CD etc) and then ran Startup Repair to write the system files to the SSD.

We`ve done it hundreds of times at Seven Forums.

According to the EasyBCD instructions on the web page it marks the desired partition Active and copies over the already existing boot files, a startup repair writes new files.

Navy`s suggestion was much quicker in your situation.

But glad you got it fixed, and now you know to always unplug all other drives before installing windows. *Smile

Post a new shot of Disk Management when you get a chance.

Ok, I'm replacing the Spinpoint F3 aswell. There's a annoying humming sound coming from my pc now and after some Googling it has something to do with sound frequencies, its a common thing whenever you have a Western Digital and a Samsung drive (particularly the Spinpoint F3), running in the same system.

Here's a uptodate shot of Disk Management

quick translation for the not so obvious ones: Opstarten means Boot and Wisselbestand means page/swap file. You can work out the others pretty easily

You're fine. The system partition is the partition the computer booted from. The boot partition is the partition that the computer loaded Windows from, and page/swap is the partition Windows is using for the pagefile. It's all on the SSD now. Drives 1 and 2 are used for nothing but data storage.
