Windows 10: Replaced Motherboard.. Windows 10 says it is activated.. Office 2019 Not So Much

Hello, My motherboard quit working and I swapped it out. Kept the M.2 drive and installed it on the new motherboard.. Everything is great.. well, almost.. Windows 10 reactivated itself just fine.. However, MS Office Pro + 2019 is giving me an error "Microsoft Office Profesional Plus 2019 detected changes to the hardware on your computer" Then it says I must activate Office. If I try to activate by phone or internet, I get an error.. I reached out to the company I got Office from and they provided a new key for me.. So I went to Word and then Account, then clicked on change license.. It tries

Only supported on Win10. Sorry, 8.1 users, only 4 years old, gotta go.

Last year at Ignite, we announced Office 2019 – the next perpetual version of Office that includes apps (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Skype for Business) and servers (including Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business). Today we’re pleased to share the following updates:

• Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.
• Office 2019 apps will be supported on:
  • Any supported Windows 10 SAC release
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018
  • The next LTSC release of Windows Server
• The Office 2019 client apps will be released with Click-to-Run installation technology only. We will not provide MSI as a deployment methodology for Office 2019 clients. We will continue to provide MSI for Office Server products.

 

Problem Activating Office 2019

You can save a few steps and do this

1. Go to this page: Microsoft 365
2. Log in with your Microsoft account
3. Enter your Office product key
4. Use the link given to download Office 2019
5. install Office 2019

I used this method for both of my copies of Office 2019

BTW, Microsoft Toolkit 2.71 says this:

Microsoft Office 2019 Will Run on Windows 10, and Only Windows 10

Office 2016 is supported on all current O/S's until 2025. So, 7 years is plenty of time to phase out all of their previous O/S's. I doubt there would ever be much need to run Office 2019 on a non-Windows 10 computer.
