  1. Replaced my users profile with Pictures folder.

I wanted to transfer my Pictures from Local Disk: D to Local Disk: CBut I remember, when I set the location in properties of Pictures, I set it as "C:\Users\myusernameI did that coz I wanted the Picture folder to be inside there,But it replaced my myusername instead of transferring my Pictures from D to C. I know my mistake, I should have set it as "C:\Users\myusername\Pictures"But now I tried to set the registry key of My Pictures, but doesn't seem to work. I did restart too. Please help me fix this.

    :)

In your case it looks like you already have taken steps to correct the situation and have an active Pictures folder physically located in C:\Users\Reece.

No, don't merge them. We need to stop and assess you precise situation in order to determine if any further steps need to be taken.

My instructions were specifically for the situation where 'pictures' had been move to D: the move back to C:\Users\Reece in error, rather than C:\Users\Reece\Pictures as it should have been. You appear to have taken steps that have already partially or fully corrected the error.

What remaining confusing effects do you see? Does the C:\Users\Reece folder still get named as 'pictures' in some parts of Explorer? If you open that Pictures folder shown in your screenshot above, do you still see files like the hidden NTUSER.DAT that are actually physically held in C:\Users\Reece? If when you open Pictures you just see your photos files and the Camera Roll etc. folders, then it looks like you have managed to separate your pictures and profiles folders and that you need no further work.

    3. In the Reece folder, create a new folder named Pictures. You will now see two Pictures folders, the original one with a pictures icon, the new one as a plain folder.

When I try to follow this step I get asked if I want to merge the folder

OK @RBS95, looks like you did forget to create a Pictures folder in C:\users\reece before moving pictures back to C:. And yes, it can be very confusing as to what you are actually looking at. I know - I've been struggling to make sense of my own PC after testing the effects of this self-inflicted 'error' *Smile

What you have to remember is that there is really just the one folder, real name C:\Users\Reece, but two ways to look at it, a filter of sorts. The system makes extra things appear to be in it, or hides some, depending on whether it thinks you want to see it as a 'pictures' folder or as your 'profile' folder. The system determines this by how you approached the folder.

When you start at the root of C: and go down through Users and then into what is actually Reese but shown as 'pictures' then you get the 'Profile' view, this is why you see Videos in it and a Pictures folder. That's your first screenshot. You get the same viewpoint if you click on Reece in the navigation pane on the left.

If you click on the Pictures folder you find inside 'Reece', you are still looking at the same folder but you get the 'pictures' view - the Videos and Pictures folders do not appear, as in your second screenshot. You can also see it like this if you click on Pictures under This PC in the navigation pane. The list vs. rows look is easily sorted, just set each viewpoint to be 'details' and they'll both be lists.

The good news is I've fixed my test PC and got it back to normal, the bad news is that I was playing around and trying various thing to do so. I'll need to re-image to a clean machine, break it again, then take the steps to fix it in what I think should be the correct order before I'll be able to give you the instructions.

Bear with me, I'll try not to be too long. In the mean time, compare your two 'views' of the same folder with mine in post #20. You'll notice I kept the camera roll and other folders inside my pictures rather than leaving them on the other drive like you have. You can leave them on D: - they are not part of the fix.
