Windows 10: Replacement for my Lenovo G500 running Windows 8.0

I have a Lenovo G500 with Windows 8.0 that I bought in 2013. Since support for Windows 8.0 will end January 10, 2023 I need to replace my computer. Not being particularly savvy with technology, I need advice on which replacement computers I might consider and how the transfer data from my current G500 to a new computer works. Thank you.

I have Lenovo G500, and I would like to do clean installation of Windows 10 (I prefer so rather than upgrade)
According to this thread in Lenovo:

This laptop may have issues with Windows 10 and I don't know how to resolve them or
whether they're still relevant.

Dolby Advanced Audio error at startup on Lenovo G500 laptop.

I have a Lenovo G500 laptop & recently downloaded Windows 10, which is functional, except for the Dolby Advanced Audio error at startup. However, a tech told me today that my Lenovo G500 is not eligible
for Windows 10. So, I don't know if I need to go back to Windows 8 or what or how? I think my current sound driver is Conexant SmartAudio HD. If I follow the steps you mention above, & uninstall it then try to install the Dolby, where do I find the Dolby
online? When I contacted Lenovo, they said to call Microsoft, who told me to call Lenovo. I need someone to give me some real info.

Lenovo does not make drivers, it is just a reseller. If the hardware is not supported, there is nothing it can do.

That said, everything might work, 8.1 drivers are mostly compatible with 10, so you will not know, until you try.
