    Replacing the main HD when you have 2 HDs

    Because my main HD an SSD is running out of room, I'd like to replace it with one that has more storage. This drive C includes Windows 11. I have another drive, a traditional HDD D that has most of my files. D also includes as many apps/software that I can move or install. However, C still includes some applications/software that I was not able to move. I have re-pathed all of the main folders like "My Documents, Pictures, Videos" etc to D.The question is, what happens to D if I replace the existing C drive and reinstall Windows onto the new C?Thank you.

    :)

  3. How do I replace a 500g hd with a 2 tb hd .How to put windows from the 500g hd. onto the 2 tb hd.

    I am buying another refurbished dell computer mostly because the pc I have cannot upgrade to windows 11 apparently due to the processor. That hd is 2 TB.

    The computer I am thinking of replacing it with does have windows 11 on board. The problem is it only has a 500gb hd. I am wondering if it is possible to move the hard drive from the older 2tb pc into the newer 500g hd

    and what problems I may run into getting this done.

    Thanks in advance

    Replacing the main HD when you have 2 HDs

    Cannot Format HD

    Need to initialize it as GPT disk type with HD > 2TB:
    From Admin command prompt:
    1. diskpart
    2. list disk =====> Take a note of disk # for the 4TB HD
    3. select disk # ====> From step 2
    4. clean
    5. exit
    Open Disk Management and initialize the disk as GPT, create simple then format.
