Windows 10: Replacing/updating user profile with older/backup

Discus and support Replacing/updating user profile with older/backup in User Accounts and Family Safety to solve the problem; I've gone through hell the last 2 weeks , unlike with the last iterations of windose I could grab all the folders in a profile and drag and drop it...     I've gone through hell the last 2 weeks , unlike with the last iterations of windose I could grab all the folders in a profile and drag and drop it into the profile to be updated with the old information,ect.

    If I am understanding the info I have read win10 uses a live type of startmenu/edge browser which means if the runtime broker or cache stuff is out of whack it won't work no matter what.

    Yes I have tried

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

    Restarting and repairing widnows files and other things, none works.

    My question is where are the files that cause all these nightmares from happening and why are they not protected system files like other things are?

    Hello,

    I appreciated your assistance regarding fixing a corrupted user profile after updating to Windows 10 Creator. I was able to correct the issue by setting up a new User Name and transferring over all of the older files. However, I have discovered that my
    File History is not backing up any of the new files saved under this new User Profile. I did go into my Backups and changed all of the old User Profile names to the new User Name. Are there settings in File History to recognize this new User Profile, or
    will I have to erase all of our backup drive files and start an entirely new backup?
