Windows 10: Report Scam

just downloaded Windows 10 with Microsoft Edge. A threat popped up saying I had been hacked.

Called the number that said Microsoft...….844-532-2267...….lost call and lady named Katherine Wilson #1182 immediately called me back on 844-517-2296. Long story short, she got into my computer and said I needed a program from Microsoft that would cost me $399 or $499 depending on what program I wanted to go with. I immediately hung up and found downloads on my laptop I did not put there. So removed them. I also started scans from Malwarebytes and McAfee. I also immediately changed passwords to sensitive accounts. Then I checked for firewalls in place. I wanted to report this....as I know it wasn't Microsoft.

You should report all scams to the local police. They can advise you of the next step to take.
