    Reporting possible phishing email

Bought Office 365 online. Got confirmation email. Two minutes later, I got another "confirmation email", which was clearly fake. Have seen similar discussions here, but would be great if Microsoft could help to blacklist that email address somewhere to protect others. I did click on buttons in the fake email, but luckily my browser blocked everything. This is how I realized that it's fake. Given I received the fake email two mins after the purchase, it seems the purchase is the trigger to receive that email and it's thus also really hard detect ... So, please, Microsoft, do something! Thanks

    :)

  2. phishing email

While there are legitimate emails from the Microsoft account team,
email phishing scams using the Microsoft name
are very common so you have to be very careful. A
legitimate email address domain from Microsoft is @accountprotection.microsoft.com.

This is an example of an older scam:
Ask Leo: Is Windows Live Hotmail about to close my account?

  3. phishing scam?

    Hi Marie,

There are different types of Phishing scam, and the one that you received might be probably a
"Deceptive Phishing" or "System Reconfiguration Attacks". For you to prevent receiving a phishing email and to be more aware about scams, we suggest that you report it by following the steps on this
link. There are tips as well on the said link on how to determine a phishing email.

We're looking forward to your feedback.

    possible xbox live phishing email

Received an email on the 12th, from billing@microsoft warning of automatic renewal of xbox live gold account. Opening 2 links resulted in a 404, but the billing link was blocked by edge:

I have an ancient xbox account but I do not use xbox live. It is possible a child has enabled a reoccurring gold account with this email, but payment info I'm unaware of. Looks suspicious.
