Windows 10: Reprogram Function Keys

I have an HP Pavilion 15-cs1067nr laptop with Windows 10, received September, 2019.

For years, on many computers I've owned, F2 has always been used to rename a file or edit a cell in Excel.

On this new laptop my F2 function key only adjusts the screen brightness.

To rename a file I now must right click and go way down the list and select Rename, or hold down the fn key and press F2.

To edit a cell in Excel I have to double click the cell or hold down the fn key and press F2.

Not a major hardship but just annoying and slow.

Anybody know how to reprogram function keys on a laptop in Windows 10? I would be very appreciative.

• Single Click on the file.
• Tap F2 ( Function Key).
• Then type the name and enter.

Inverting Function Keys

  What is the make and model of your computer?
  

I suggest you to try using on screen keyboard and check if you are able to use the functionality of function key.

To open on screen keyboard, type on screen keyboard in the
search box on the taskbar and select on screen keyboard.

Reprogram PTT button on Tilt

Hi Folks; Have just received an ATT Tilt for my birthday, and am learning how to use it. I will never be using the "Push

to talk" function of Windows Mobile 6, so I want to know if there is any way to reprogram the button to something

I could really use that button for, like the voice recorder function. I notice that the software has instructions for

reprogramming the other buttons on the machine, but can't find anything on the PTT button. Thanks in advance
