Windows 10: request for activation of windows 11 using a genuine Windows 7 key

Dear Microsoft support team, i am writing to request assistance with activating Windows 11 on my newly built computer. i have a genuine windows 7 product key from an old computer that has been unused for a long time. the old device is no longer opertional, and i would like to use the key to activate my Windows 11 installation. when i try drop error : 0x80041023the product key is: <Product key removed>I understand that older versions of Windows may still quality for activation of Windows 11 under certain conditions. could you please confirm if this is possible and assist with the activati

Windows 7 not genuine problem

It seems like that's an OEM windows copy, it will do that the every time you reinstall the OS. If you have the key, next time you see the "not genuine windows copy" click it and choose to activate by phone, everything else is pretty straight forward as it explains step-by-step. If it doesn't work, then its highly likely that you got a Pirate copy.

first make sure the not genuine warning is an actual microsoft warning and not some trojan crap

next try to activate, look if she received any keys with the pc

if you are sure windows is not genuine and she was sold a pc including windows, contact the retailer and give them a chance to fix it.

finally contact microsoft and tell them about that bad bad person who's selling pcs with pirated windows *Wink
