Request for Root Cause Fix: Persistent USB Mouse Stutter After Sleep/Wake Events on Windows 11

Dear Microsoft,I am reaching out to address a pervasive issue with Windows 11 that many users, including myself, have been experiencing: significant stuttering when a USB mouse wakes up from sleep or goes to sleep. This problem is not just an occasional glitch but a frequent disruption that severely impacts the usability and performance of the operating system.Symptoms:Stuttering and Freezes: The system frequently stutters or momentarily freezes when the USB mouse wakes up from a low-power state. This occurs not just during gaming but also during regular desktop use.Delayed Input Response: The

Win 10 Wakes Immediately Upon Sleep

Out of the blue my wireless mouse disconnected a few days ago (fully charged...). It was intermittently very bad for a couple of days. Since then it's been better & last couple of days it's only faltered once or twice. Also since then when sleeping it wakes immediately. Cmd suggests it's the USB 3? But there is nothing in the USB port & it's been working ok last couple of days... The mouse is not connected to a usb 3.0 port, more so a USB 2.0 port but have taken all USB's out completely so it can't be USB. Tried already this well written article [URL="https://thegeekpage.com/fix-computer-automatically-waking-up-from-sleep-in-windows-10/[/URL] amongst another several step article:
    • Device Manager - deleted all USB devices & rebooted
    • Device Manager - checked if update is required to USB drivers; does not appear so
    • Device Manager - set all mice Power Management > not to wake up computer
    • Disabled wake timers in Power Options. Despite this it allows the clicking of the mouse to wake (when the machine does actually go to sleep). I cannot say every time as more often than not the machine will not sleep but I mention to be thorough.
    • Wireless adapter does not have wake timers enabled
    • Deleting all usb ports in device manager & restarting.
    • Power plan > no dodgy settings. Thought it might be setting "On Battery" never put to sleep but that's not the case.
    • Device Manager Network Adapter - no wake settings
    • Event viewer shows USB 3.0 causing it (2 pics)Attachment 388361
    • Event Scheduler loaded fine at first. Then following the article after installing PSTools I get a warning pic attachedAttachment 388362
    • Event Scheduler Reboot_AC & Reboot_Battery are disabled
    • Task Scheduler Library -> Microsoft -> Windows -> UpdateOrchestrator is missing; there is no updateOrchestrator as in fix-6 of the article. I'll take this with a pinch of salt as the article is not 100% with my machine, I'm not getting a prompt when loading cmd to allow access to UAC... so I'll take it with a pinch of salt
    • sc config “UsoSvc” start= disabled
    • Regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon > PowerdownAfterShutdown = 0.
    • Windows Update is latest settings

Mouse won't wake up computer from sleep.

When my computer goes to sleep, power light is blinking on the computer so perhaps it's deep sleep, moving the USB attached mouse does not wake it up.
Allow mouse to wake is enabled:

This used to work, even with 2004 but somewhere with one of their updates it stopped working. I tried a new mouse, same problem. Any suggestions?

Yes, I've done many Google searches and looked at lots of responses but there really is nothing more than the above as far as a suggested fix.

I've uninstalled the mouse from Device Manager then rebooted, no help.

USB attached keyboard works okay and wakes the computer.

Troubleshooting PCs spontaneously waking from sleep

First off: I tried disabling wake-up by the mouse on both PCs and disabling USB Selective Suspend too, to no avail.
Thanks, I'll definitely look into that. Good to know that powercfg can list all wake-enabled devices, 'cause when I went through all ... eight-ish PCI-to-PCI bridge devices in Device Manager, none of them had wake events listed (in the "events" tab under Properties), which doesn't quite add up with one/more of them waking the PC a dozen or so times over the last few days. Of course, they don't even have the option to enable/disable waking the PC in the properties menu. I'll take a look at disabling a bunch of stuff through powercfg once I get home from work.

Sorry if I came across as rude, but honestly, your reply did not at all indicate that you'd read my post in the first place. I said I'd been looking at wake-up history in the Windows event log, and I listed several of the devices cited there as having woken up the PC. If you came away with the impression that I hadn't investigated this thoroughly, I suppose I might not have been clear enough, but it's all there in the post. While powercfg does give out some more detail (device IDs and such) than Event Viewer, it only lists the last wake-up, and as such doesn't really help in this instance, as it's clearly not a single device at fault, and tracking wake-ups over time seems more useful. Also, figuring out how to view wake-up events in the Event Log is what you do after you've concluded that powercfg isn't giving you enough information *Wink Request for Root Cause Fix: Persistent USB Mouse Stutter After Sleep/Wake Events on Windows 11 ;)
