    Hello,I have a user who would like to use the fingerprint reader for a 3rd party application. There was another user that was able to accomplish this by turning off the "Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts" option listed below all the Windows hello sign in options. This is not present on their machine and I can't seem to find any information about why it wouldn't be there. The user is running Windows 10 22H2 and is current with updates. The PC is older. I believe it is a 6th gen intel processor, so I'm not sure if this is related to TPM. I am running a newer PC 11th gen an

    It sounds like this is at step 7 in the tutorial below where it's asking you to enter your local account's password one last time.

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Navigate to Start>Settings>Accounts.
    • In the left pane, click on sign-in options.
    • In the right pane select Never from the drop down list for the option
      Require sign-in.

    Hi Micheal,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    • Is this the only account on the computer?
    • Was this account upgraded from previous version of Windows?

    It looks like you are using a local account. I suggest you follow these steps:

    • Click on search in taskbar and type account.
    • Click on Accounts.
    • Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Microsoft account instead.
    • Enter your Local account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
    • Enter User name credentials for your the new Microsoft account and click OK.
