I would appreciate if you can help me with this problem. I have the searched the Web sites and tried all the suggestions I could find but with no luck. I have a long list of recently visited files and also of favourites in file explorer which I am trying to clear. I would rather not have these showing.I have tried …options …and under privacy and have unticked the three boxes cleared file explorer history. Also in personalisation…..i have unticked ….recent file in file explorer and jump lists. Is there something I am missing or could you add more suggestionsMany thanksyash

  2. Windows 10 My Favourites list is gone!

I have loaded up Windows 10 and my favourites list is gone. This is pretty frustrating as I had a big list of favourites built up over a couple of years for work and my own personal browsing. I tried the adive offered by Krishna to Maggie in the forum which
    was:

"I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps to restore the favourites.

    • Click This PC
    • Type %userprofile% into the Address bar
    • Press Enter on your keyboard
    • Right click the Favorites folder
    • Click Properties
    • Click Previous Versions
    • Wait for the list of previous versions to load
    • Select a version that was before you lost the files/folders
    • Click Restore."
When I got to step 6 my previous versions list showed only today. Surely the loading of Windows 10 has not wiped out my Favourites? What can I do from here?

Return Windows 7 "Favourites" or File Explorer Alternative?: I've always hated the removal of Favourites from the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and its poor man's replacement with "Quick Access". in Windows 10 Ask Insider
Is there a way to replace Quick Access with Favourites in File Explorer?: Quick Access sucks majorly, it is a direct downgrade in functionality. Several links (network links specifically) that work fine on previous systems (Win 7 or 8) stopped working on Win 10, I cannot drop files into them anymore in Quick Access. Any way to change it back? Or...

File explorer jumps to favourite folders or top of current folder tree: I have seen discussions on this over many years. In the past I have used those fixes and...
