Reserve port for a particular application

Hello everyone,We have a VPN application which run on pre-configured port on every machine in the organization. The VPN application starts automatically on user login after each reboot. Lately, we have been seeing cases where some other process takes the same port before application starts. Is there a way to reserve the specific port for specific application for all user in the domain? Also, the process which occupies the port cannot be terminated using taskkill. Workaround we have is to kill the parent process which is also unknown.Thank you for your time and help!

    :)

  2. USB 2 port not working in Windows 10 on Samsung Notebook

    Hi Tomale,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Since all the USB ports are working and the problem is with the USB 3.0 port in the right side of the laptop, then this issue is with that particular port.

You can contact the manufacture of the laptop to get it done.

As a workaround, I suggest you to Run Hardware troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow these steps to run hardware troubleshooter.

    • Type troubleshooting
      in search box.
    • Select view all on the top left pane.
    • Click on Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter and follow the prompts to
      run the troubleshooter.

    Thanks.

  3. REGARDING PARTICULAR APPLICATION

    Hi Salim,

I'm sorry, but this is a peer to peer community forum for how to use Windows Phone. We can't answer questions related
to a 3rd party application, you should contact the company,
    REVE Systems
, that makes the app for support. The app was updated yesterday, you should make sure that you have the latest version in the case that they have already fixed the problems that you are having with it.

I took a quick peek at the
    listing for that app
in the Windows Phone App Store and it looks like a bunch of people are reporting problems with that app. You did not include any specific information about what was not working. When you contact REVE, the more information that you
can provide to them, the easier it will be for them to help resolve the problem that you are having. I would suggest sending to REVE the following:

    • The model of your phone
    • The version of Windows Phone that you are running
    • If the problem happens on Wi-Fi, Cellular, or both
    • The steps needed to reproduce the problem.

I would also suggest using mixed case when you send the message. Using all caps comes across as shouting.

    Hello Donna,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Suggest you to try the below mentioned troubleshooting steps and check if they help.

    • Go to the folder where that application or program files are located or installed. (I.e. C:\Program Files or
      Program Files(x86)\...).
Say for example if I want to give full permission to the Internet explorer, then the navigation path will be

    • Accordingly Right-clicking
on the particular application folder and select
      Properties from context menu.

    • Go to the Security tab and click
