  1. Reset Downloads and Documents folders from One Drive Back to C: where they belong

I recently set up two new computers, and moved a lot of data onto them. One of the two machines, which were done in the exact same manner, re-mapped Downloads, Documents, and Music that I am aware of to One Drive.

How do I get these folders and their contents back to the C: drive where they belong. This is a pretty urgent request.

    :)

  3. My data folders (Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, etc) are on DRIVE E: not Drive C:

    Patti,

Let me start by saying the above information would have been very useful at the start. Let me see if I can recap your original issue first...

    Before Windows 10 Upgrade:

Your computer was configured (before the Win10 upgrade) to used drive (EReset Downloads and Documents folders from One Drive Back to C: where they belong :) as your DEFAULT storage location for DOCUMENTS, PICTURES, MUSIC etc. I assume there were sub-folders for each.

    After Windows 10 Upgrade:

After the upgrade, your DEFAULT storage locations were re-set to drive C:. This had the side affect of you seeing 'Documents' in the quick access list which did not point to your 'Documents' folder on drive E:.

    What you wanted:

You wanted the 'Documents' and other data folders that showed up in the Quick Access list to point to your original files on drive E:. You also assumed that all new documents would be created in the Documents folder on drive E:.

Drive E: is your data drive because that is where you have space and you want to continue using that drive.

In the above description I used 'Documents' but that would apply to all of your 'data' folders such as Music, Video, Pictures etc.

If I have this right, please let me know.

Reset Downloads and Documents folders from One Drive Back to C: where they belong

    My Documents Files - Deleted?

I have a PC where I have moved My Docs away from my C: to my E: so i can perhaps suggest a few things to check.

    1. The documents and settings folder will still be present on your C: (although unused)
    2. My Documents on my E: is shown as E:\Data (do you have a similar directory)
    3. Is your missing data in this \Data folder if it exists?
    4. If you click the My Documents shortcut does it take you to the default C:\doc and settings\blah blah, or does it take you to the \Data folder?

Ive had a similar issue with an application resetting the My Docs path back to its orig location and in essence orphaning the My Docs on my E:
