Windows 10: Reset files and folders icon back to default

Hello, my name is Daniel and a friend of mine has recently told me to use custom desktop themes. So, from the image as you can see, I've done it. But the problem is, I wanted to bring it back to default. I have tried doing some research on google. I uninstalled the app that used this theme, restarted my PC and it's still here. I have tried deleting IconCache file in AppData, still didn't work. I am stuck in this loophole trying to figure out how to restore it back to default.

How to get back default icons?

Try downloading the zip file provided there. You can follow the instruction to remove the little folder on your shortcuts, but then of course you won't know what icons are shortcuts, and which are real files. The part you probably want, is the reg file to restore the default arrow, apply that, and it should change them back to the regular arrows.

Now, as for the folder icon:
Right-Click the Folder > Properties > Go to Customize Tab > Click the Restore Default Button > Finally, Click the Apply Button...

Unfortunately, you will have to do this with every folder, I don't know of a way to do it to all folders at once.

 

Files & Folders View as medium or large Icons

To assist you better, we would suggest that you try to follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Once you are viewing a folder, right click an empty space within the File Explorer window and select View from the dialogue menu, then choose Large or any icon you wanted to use. Alternatively, you can use the following shortcut keys on the keyboard to
  change your View settings:

• CTRL + SHIFT + 1 Extra Large
• CTRL + SHIFT + 2 Large icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 3 Medium Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 4 Small Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 5 List
• CTRL + SHIFT + 6 Details
• CTRL + SHIFT + 7 Tiles
• CTRL + SHIFT + 8 Content

3. Once you have the view set, you can make it the default view for

every folder.

4. Click Apply, then click OK.

Continuous Reset Layout Icons

right click on the desktop, and at the top of the popup window is "sort by", you can then click which way you want the folders and icons sorted on the desktop.

There is one way I know that it can reset after setting it the way you want. If you don't reset the PC normally to allow the changes to set in. If you were to crash the system or power down holding the power button, the system will default to the last save configuration (which is likely by alphabetical order).
