  1. Reset game application, now file can't be interacted with in any way

I downloaded the Halo: Master Chief Collection through the Xbox app, but when I tried opening it, it would just open Microsoft Game Services on the Microsoft store. After looking up a solution online, I went into app settings and reset the application, which should just delete the app and then redownload it, but a few days have passed and the files have stayed inaccessible. I cannot run the app even as administrator, and if I go into the files to manually uninstall everything, it will ask for admin permissions, and then error 0x80004005 will pop up. I need to either restore these files or dele

Windows Interaction Issues After Game Launch

For the past few months, I've been dealing with a problem with Windows that I can't quite figure out. Whenever launching particular game titles such as Overwatch and Fortnite, some applications can no longer be interacted with. I've to show exactly what is happening.

This video is showing the hover interaction of Spotify before and after launching one of these two games.

    • Before launching the game, you can see that the application functions normally. (0:00 in Video)
    • After launching the game, you can see that the application no longer responds to hovering. (0:10 in video)

FileZilla, Putty, and Spotify are immediately affected during every launch of these applications. Discord, Steam, Battle.net, Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and IntelliJ IDEA are affected on an inconsistent basis. When this issue occurs, clicks will be registered with applications located behind the problematic application.

All applications encountering this issue will resume normal functionality when relaunched through the system tray or Task Manager. Applications like Spotify can still play or pause audio using keyboard media keys when this issue occurs.

I noticed that this bug started occurring after I installed the Fall Creators Update in November. I'd like to stay clear of the reset Windows option unless absolutely necessary. I found a similar question called Clicking through windows, though it seems to be unanswered and I thought a little more information of my own might help close the case.

    System Information:

    • Windows 10 Pro - Version 10.0.16299 (Semi-Annual Channel)
    • Nvidia Video Driver 390.65 (Latest)

    So far I've tried:

    • Running DISM, SFC, and chkdsk.
    • Reinstalling some offending applications.

  3. an application can not interact with a desktop

We use the IIS to build our website. In an aspx.cs program, we execute an application that is supposed to interact with a user. It turns out that the application can not interact with the user. We understand that the aspx.cs is runs inside "w3wp" process,
so is never given right to spawn process that is interactive with desktop. The following steps are provided by some web pages to solve this problem. However, these steps do not solve our problem. Can anyone tell us how to solve the problem?

    1. Right-click
My Computer and from the drop down menu click
    Manage
    .

    2. From the
Services and Applications menu, click Services.

    3. From the right scroll down menu, double-click
    Task Scheduler.

    4. Click the
Log On tab, select the Local System Account and
Allow Service to Interact with Desktop options, and then click
    Apply.

    5. Click the
    General tab, click Start.
