Windows 10: Reset Kids Account Password

Bought kid his first PC and trying to login to his Microsoft account. We have Microsoft 365 family, gamepass ultimate and family safety for him. He also has his account on his XBOX linked up to his account. He has of course forgotten his password and can’t login. We are having to go through the account recovery which requires some old passwords and email info. My kid hasn’t been sending emails and cannot remember fully his old passwords so don’t know how we will be able to reset in this way., it’s a bloody nightmare.Surely with him registered as my child there could be some way to reset his p

I understand that you want to reset a kid's account password.

Follow these steps. (Must be done on an account with administrator privileges)

1 - Right-click on "This PC" and select "Manage".

2 - Expand "Local Users and Groups" and click "Users".

3 - Right-click on the desired user and select "Set password"

4 - A message will appear. Click on "Proceed" and enter the new password then click Ok.

Can't change passwords to kids accounts

I've lost the passwords to both of my kids accounts on my family account. When I try to reset password the validation of my recovery form gets denied. Is there a way to bypass this step?
