Windows 10: reset microsoft account

I am helping a friend setup a computer for her father. The father doesnt have a computer right now. The daughter can access his email account. I tried to reset the fathers' email account. A request for a code was sent to the daughter. The code allowed me to get into his microsoft account. I was hoping the daughter could reset his microsoft password. The father doesnt remember his microsoft password.I am not sure how to get in touch with microsoft or what microsoft could do. Any suggestions on what to do? I'm lost myself. The father is 92 years old and won't understand the situation.

Thanks for the reply, but it does not help me. The website does not proceed past step 4. After entering the security code, the website does not proceed to step 5. It does not give an error message, it simply greys out the next and cancel buttons and hangs
indefinitely.

Reset your password

I'll try your "Get account help by email" suggestion and post the solution here when I've found one.

Undo Built-in Administrator Account tied to a Microsoft Account

Hello @Converseallstar95,

Could it be that the built-in Administrator may just be signed in to the Store app with the Microsoft account?

If so, then you could reset the "Microsoft Store" app back to default to see if that may remove the association.

If not, then check to see if it may be listed using step 3 in Option Two below, and can be removed.
