Windows 10: reset pc w/new pin and 1 reboot later it won't recognize pin

I did a clean install on a latitude e 7490 and set aside for a few months. the first time i tried to log in it wouldn't recognize any pins i thought i had put in. so i reset windows on the machine and put in a new pin. on my first startup the day after it would not recognize the pin i set up.

I tried steps of both links:

• #1: reset PIN code
  
  • I see no link "reset your PIN"on login page --> I can't reset it
    
• #2: change or reset windows password
  
  • My Windows account is not displayed at all on login page.
    
  • I am using a local account
    

If you have any other suggestion, I would be more than happy to try.

Pin no longer recognized after this morning's update

• Which PIN are your referring to? Is it for your PC or for the Windows login?
• What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
• What is the exact error message? A screenshot will help.

Reset PIN issues

So, I have a Lenovo brand lapttop with fingerprint scanner. But, since I always use the scaner, I forgot my PIN. It is asking for me to put in my PIN, and I inputed what I remembered it being. It said I was wrong. I tried the other possibility, same thing.
It then asked me to put in a phrase, which reveald the typical “I forgot my PIN”. Well, I clicked it, and nothing happened. 1 reboot later, samething. 1 reeboot and a night later, samething. Any suggestions?
