Windows 10: Reset PIN for signing on Windows 11

I'm trying to help my cousin get into her Windows 11 laptop. She forgot her PIN. I have done the forgot my PIN. Her email address and password and it says emailing code. No emails are received. We don't have her bitlocker recovery key and trying to get it goes through the whole process of emails not received with a code in it. I thought that the people of Microsoft would have more intelligent ways to get into a computer for a forgotten PIN than waiting 30 days and no guarantees of fixing the problem. Windows 10 PIN Sign-in

It is possible that the PIN set in an earlier build does not work after reinstalling Windows 10. To better assist you, we'd like clarify few things:

• Which build and version of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using before reinstalling Windows?
• Have you tried resetting your PIN?
• Did you get any error messages after you verified the PIN you entered?

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Windows 11 needs PIN - lost PIN & Password - Help!

To reset a forgotten PIN code, please complete these steps: (Require your phone number.)

Step 1: On the Windows 11 login screen, click “I forgot my PIN” under the PIN password box.

Step 2: Enter your user account password and then click “Sign in”.

Step 3: you need to verify your identity, choose a way to receive code and continue.

Step 4: If you choose your phone number, enter the last 4 digits of the phone number. Then click “Send code”.

Step 5: You will receive a code in seconds. Type in your received code and then click “Verify”.

Step 6: Select “Continue”.

Step 7: Type in a new PIN and type it again to confirm. Then click “OK”. The new PIN password is working now.
