"Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued" Frequently Freezes my Windows 11 Laptop....

First, this message appears: "Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued." Then, this follows: "The IO operation at logical block address 0x99edc58 for Disk 0 PDO name: \Device\00000047 was retried." This happens frequently and causes my Windows 11 laptop to freeze for a minute or two, and sometimes for a long time. I'm unable to use my laptop without getting frustrated. Can somebody please help me? Thank you for your solutions in advance.

    :)

  3. Windows 10 Hangs and freezes. Getting error message "Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued." "Event 129, iaStorA".

Original Title: Windows 10 Hangs for a good minute or 2

Hi, so I'm not sure what I did but since last week my computer has been constantly hanging/freezing. When I went to go check the disk usage it was at 100%. I have a 240gb SSD as the boot drive and a 1 TB hard drive as storage. I've been looking all over
the internet for solutions but none of them worked permanently. When I go into Event Viewer this is what it says "Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued." "Event 129, iaStorA" I don't have my drives in raid configuration at least I don't think. In
the bios, they are set to AHCI. I also tried resetting windows to no avail. If someone could help me solve this or tell me how to get rid of it, I would be so grateful.

Frequent Lockups in Windows 10 - 100% Disk Usage - Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued

About a week ago, around the time 1511 started getting pushed to devices (but before it downloaded on mine), I started having intermittent lockups in Windows 10. Each time the lockups would occur I'd view the performance data in Task Manager and it would
show Hard Disk usage at 100%. After trying nearly everything I could find on the internet regarding that problem, and the issue still occurring frequently despite that, I decided to check Event Viewer. Sure enough, every time these lockups happen there are
    two Warnings:

    1) Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued. (source=amdsata)

    2) The IO operation at logical block address 0x44ca28 for Disk 0 (PDO name: \Device\0000002d) was retired.

In looking up the first warning, I came across quite a few posts regarding modifying 3 registry entries. This didn't help, presumably because they appear to be more related to the issue happening on machines with AHCI enabled and the hard drive in my laptop
does not appear to support that.

Once I combined that warning with searching for the issue occuring on HP laptops, I found additional posts saying it was a power management issue and that installing the "HP Recommended" power plan would resolve it. Unfortunately again, this did not resolve
the issue for me. Neither did changing the Hard Drive power options to never shut it off.

My final attempt was to do a reset of Windows. After doing so, I let 1511 install (to see if it by chance corrected it). I installed only a few applications (BitDefender (AV), Quicken, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Steam and Minecraft) and changed only a few
settings (disabled Cortana but only the actual assistant, setup mail, and turned off most notifications). I also uninstalled some of the bloatware that comes with Windows 10, but only those for which a Power Shell command was not needed.

NOTE: When the issue began I was using built-in Windows Defender for AV software. Installing an alternative was one of the many things I was lead to try to resolve the issue.

Even after a reset and minimal application installs, it continues to happen. I have tried pretty much everything a Bing/Google search turns up to no avail.

    Hardware:

    HP ENVY M6-n010dx

-HGST HTS541075A9E680 Hard Drive (does not appear to support AHCI)

    -AMD A10-5750M w/ Radeon 8650G HD Graphics

I am at my wits end here and frankly, days away from going back to Windows 8.1 (which I really don't want to do). I used 8.1 for close to 2 years before Windows 10. My Windows 10 install was a clean (deleted the partition and recreated it) install and it
ran fine for months. The day the issues began, nothing had changed on my laptop outside of 1511 trying to download and failing. There were probably other updates that had applied but unfortunately I've no clue what they were (as I've reset since then). Any
help someone out there can provide would be great. Thanks!
