Windows 10: Reset windows 10 PC and now the mouse and keyboard don't work on the account creation screen

So I bought this PC the other day and as the original owner had not reset it I decided to through the windows menu. The mouse and keyboard worked perfectly fine but as soon as it took me to the menu that you first get ton when you have a new windows device the mouse doesn't work haven't been able to test the keyboard yet. The mouse works fine in another PC and on the Asus EZ menu and on safe mode. The main issue is that because it is a reset PC I can't do many of the traditional methods to solve the issue, plus the admin password isn't accessible as it was tied to the old account that has be

Thanks for your help my PS keyboard is working unfortunately my usb mouse/keyboard still do not work even after having my OS installed. How would i go about selecting to load the driver packages?

Wired Keyboard and Mouse Stop Working - Windows 10
I have an old Dell Studio that is running windows 10 ---

Ir has Windows 10 and SSD installed - to me it does what it needs to do but this darn mouse and keyboard stuff stopping working with no rhyme or reason is making me very frustrated.

Keyboard and Mouse are wired - NOT WIRELESS

• I cannot easily unplug and plug in the mouse/keyboard to get it going again... they are still lit up but they are dead basically and I have to do a hard reset.
  
• USB selective suspend is disabled.
• I checked the drivers for the keyboard and mouse and they are updated.
• I checked to see if PC has KB4074588 and it does not.

I am not sure what else to do.... I can go days without the issue and then days where anytime I step away from the PC it stops working.

I can say when it is working it just does not just stop ... only when I walk away and the machine is idle or the screen is locked.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had this issue before luckily I have and old PS keyboard and mouse to use until windows loads. What version of windows are you trying to load? Like suggested make sure you have usb support on in the bios and you select to load the driver packages in memory when loading windws
