Resetting drivers on tablet - better wifi signal, no network

Hi. I have an Acer W4-820 tablet. Today, I was having problems with the wifi signal. All my other computers and tablets don't have this problem so I updated the BIOS. When that didn't change anything, I uninstalled the Broadcomm drivers and allowed the computer to reinstalled them. The wifi signal from my router is great now. I can access the internet just fine now. However, the computer will not recognize my printer or the NAS drive. The other computers have no problems. In fact, the other computers recognize the tablet being on the network even though it can not access any information from the tablet. The Synology assistant program on the tablet recognizes the NAS drive at a specific IP address, but can not connect. Network discovery is on as well as File and printer sharing for the private network. HomeGroup isn't set on any of the computers. Restarting the NAS didn't help. Restarting the computer didn't help. Given that the other computers aren't having any problems, I'm figuring that the problem is with the tablet.

Sometime during the night, I got access to the NAS, but then it blinked out on me again. I have already uninstalled and tried to reinstall the wifi driver again.

I have limited knowledge of networking and was wondering if someone might be able to help me. The tablet does not have the Windows 10 creator's update yet.

    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Wi-Fi Signal reception Problem after windows 10 update

This is one of the bugs that windows 10 has. People who are close enough to the router, face this problem. There is a solution though...Once the Network Adaptor is reset, it will correctly detect the wifi signal. The reset process occurs automatically when
you cant connect to the network. In case you are connected with low detection of wifi signal, you should manually reset the Network Adaptor by running the Wireless Troubleshooter. Once it is reset, you can get connected with maximum wifi signal.

  3. A question about WLAN and processor speed

I use Joukuspot Lite in wifi hotspotting my Nokia E5. any other or better app?

so, it won't matter if the phone is capable of 10Mbps or 100Mbps as the HSDPA and the HSUPA signal depends on the network signal or bandwith that's correct yes?

so in your opinion would Nokia phones be "better" with wifi hotspotting? what makes it better than Android?

  4. Resetting drivers on tablet - better wifi signal, no network

    Hi CuriuosD

Please check that status of this problem, on one screen it shows Solved but when you look at thread it shows not solved.

When you open "Open Network and Sharing" right under network name does it say Private? ( I know you said in write up that Network Discovery is on for Private network)

You didn't mention a router reset. I would give this a try, power down, wait a minute power up.

On your tablet have you tried disabling the Firewall?

  5. I would also run these commands at a Command Prompt(admin). Don't type in stuff in brackets after command, it is there to tell you what it does.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
