Resetting win 10 pc for another user

HiI have an second PC that initially ran win 7. I was able to update to win 10 under the legacy offer. I want to gift it to my son but when I looked into reset options whereby I use a media create tool, it asks for a password. Will my original win 7 password be accepted? If I use the alternative reset option that doesn't need the create tool, will it remove all the previously installed window= apps? I would be happy to give him the PC as is I've deleted any personal files but don't know how to remove my windows administrators account so that he can take over and set up his own.Advice would

    :)

  2. Unable to sign in after resetting PC, only Other User present

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you have reset the PC and there is no other user account apart from other user.

I would suggest you to boot the PC in to safe mode and check if you are able to login. Refer the section
From the sign-in screen in the article
Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10
    .

If you are able to login to the PC in safe mode, try enabling the default administrator and then login to the PC. Follow the steps mentioned below to enable default administrator.

    1. Open Start Menu and type
      CMD.
    2. Now right click on it and click on
      Run as administrator.
    3. Type the following command to enable hidden administrator:
      net user administrator /active:yes
    4. Restart the PC and then try logging in to the
      Administrator account.

If you are able to login to the Administrator account, create a new user account and try to login. Refer the article

Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10
    .

If you have any further queries, please get back to us with the results of the troubleshooting steps to assist you further.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.

First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

    Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".
