    Resetting Win10 initial sign-on screen password


    I used to change my initial sign-on password every month. When I turn on, picture would turn on and space to enter password was there. Now the system will not let me change that password. I followed the directions and I have done this for years, but now it will not let me change it. It just directs me to change c my Microsoft account password which as expected does so with no problem, but not my PC password.

    Hi,

    About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

    If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on Accounts.
    • Click on Sign in options.
    • On the right side, you will see required sign in.
    • Change it to Never.
