    Resetting Windows 10


    Good day all. I inherited my mom's Dell Inspiron desktop when she upgraded to a laptop. It originally had Windows 8.1 on it, which was upgraded to Windows 10 when Microsoft pushed users to upgrade.

    I want to reset it back to square one and start fresh because she let someone work on it in the past and they kind of messed it up.

    When I try to reset it, it fails every time. I tried the steps outlined here to no avail:

    My question is; if I create a bootable USB to reinstall it, will it still be licensed?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
